For those who may be interested in the quilting retreat, we will still be hosting this event on February 28 to March 2 at Emma Krumbee’s in Belle Plain, MN.
We are planning a “Going-Away” Party on Saturday night to celebrate the future and share memories from the past. We look forward to seeing you all at the retreat. It will be fun.
Regards,
Carolyn
The Quilted Shingle is CLOSING! January 7, 2008

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that The Quilted Shingle is CLOSING!
Due to the time restrictions of caring for Charlie (suffered a stroke in October 2004) and our overly large house (caught in the housing market meltdown). I have been unable and quite frankly unwilling to make time for the shop. Charlie comes first!
Since Charlie and I were partners for the shop (as well as being married almost 30 years), when he fell ill I lost my enthusiasm and my heart for the shop. This is unfair to my loyal customers and my employees.
So the time has come (probably long overdue) to close the brick and mortar shop and move forward to the future. I have enjoyed this experience (mostly) and especially enjoyed meeting so many quilters!
At this time, the online shop will remain open.
Effective immediately, we will be selling our inventory, fixtures and samples.
Many of our samples will be photographed and uploaded to the online shop. All fixtures will be available for local pick-up only.
Thanks for the memories!
Carolyn and Charles Peters

We are in the preparation stages of the newsletter for the 1st quarter of 2008. We are seeking your advise, suggestions, recommendations, etc. for our class offerings.
We will be offering Machine Quilting, basic and advanced. We will also offer our Beginning Quilting class. Beyond that, we are interested in what might be interesting to you.
What would you like to learn about, take a class just to have fun! How about a monthly sew-in. A mini-retreat on a Saturday?
How about mini-lectures? Have gobs of rulers, particularly the specialty one and do not know what to do with them, ask the experts and we will demonstrate.
Please let us know so that we can schedule these fun events for you to enjoy and to learn!
